Redondo Beach Ed Foundation Gives Out $31K in Teacher Grants
(November 18, 2010) -- At the third annual RBEF mixer, called "Mix, Mingle and Make A Difference" held at the Cheesecake Factory on November 18th, over 250 parents, school administrators and community were present for the announcement of the fall round of teacher grants for the 2010-11 school year.
RBEF gave out a record amount of grants this round, 16 in total, ranging from laptops for a middle school science department, ipods for teaching special needs students, and document cameras for elementary classes, to name a few of the items requested by RBUSD teachers.
Currently, RBEF is running a Fall Tech Campaign, raising funds to help put new computers and software onto each of the eleven campuses in Redondo Beach. Wells Fargo, one of RBEF's current corporate sponsors has made a donation of $10,000 towards that goal. For those interested in contributing to the Fall Tech Campaign, go to www.rbef.org to donate. RBEF is suggesting $50 per family or community member to help the need in this area.
