Athens Services, City Team up for Event

Athens Services and Redondo Beach have teamed up to host a document-shredding and hazardous waste disposal event.

Redondo Beach residents are invited to cart any hazardous waste in need of disposal and documents in need of shredding to the on Saturday.

In conjunction with the city, Athens Services is hosting a community shred and hazardous waste disposal event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is only open to residents of Redondo Beach, and proof of residency is required.

Hazardous waste includes paint, paint thinner, motor oil, brake fluid, car batteries and pesticides. People can also bring household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, syringes and expired medication.

Iron Mountain Shredding Company will provide the onsite shredding services.
