Dominique's Chef Named a Best Chef in America

Dominique's Kitchen chef Dominique Theval receives the honors.

Dominique's Kitchen can add a few more awards to its growing list after head chef Dominique Theval was named one of the best chefs in America for 2013.

The recognition, which according to the restaurant "only recognizes the most talented, most exciting and most influential chefs in the United States," came after the award committee interviewed more than 5,000 chefs.

"It is an honor to be recognized for my work," Theval said in a release. "The food I prepare is ultimately about providing something delicious at a reasonable price for the neighborhood, so when someone notices that is very nice."

Opened in October 2012, Dominique's Kitchen prides itself on offering affordable French cuisine with most entrees coming in under $20, Theval told Patch last November.

“Good value, good product, fresh food—that was the idea behind the menu," Theval said, adding that the goal is to ensure customers want to come back to the restaurant.

Adding to the restaurant's success, highly selective restaurant review site GAYOT.com recently gave Dominique's a positive review and called it "solidly executed classic French bistro fare in a cozy setting."
