Forum to Focus on Topaz Substation

According to Wilson, representatives from SoCalGas discovered that her gas line carried a charge. Her neighbors' gas lines also carried a charge, according to a story aired on CBS Los Angeles in February.

Strong electromagnetic fields, which have been called a carcinogen, have also been detected in the neighborhood; however, Edison representative Scott Gobble downplayed the risk to the City Council in December, saying that "our experts say coffee is a carcinogen."

Nevertheless, people are still concerned about the risks, so city officials set up Monday's forum, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Main Library, located at 303 N. Pacific Coast Hwy. in South Redondo Beach.
