Leadership Class to Install Bike Racks

The Leadership Redondo Class of 2011 is raising money to install new bicycle racks across Redondo Beach as part of its Advance Vitality project.

A total of 20 new bicycle racks will soon appear in spots on the International Boardwalk next to the , at , at the , and at in the , according to a news release from the Leadership Redondo Class of 2011.

Leadership Redondo has raised about $13,000 toward its goal of $27,000. In all, the organization hopes to install at least 50 bike racks.

The bicycle rack installation is one part of the two-part project for the Leadership Redondo Class of 2011. The second part of the project involves getting 10,000 Redondo Beach residents for the Blue Zones Project, formerly known as Vitality City, an initiative that encourages healthy living.

To encourage residents to sign up for the project, Leadership Redondo also gave away 15 bicycles.
