More Details Revealed About Ex-Officer
Former Redondo Beach police Officer Christopher Sabosky once received a Distinguished Service Medal, according to a report in the Daily Breeze.
In 2005, former Redondo Beach police Officer Christopher Sabosky, 33, once received a Distinguished Service Medal after coming under attack while checking two men in January 2004, according to the Daily Breeze.
Now, Sabosky is accused of tipping off Torrance police Officer Jeff Grau about a search warrant in El Segundo in December 2010, according to multiple reports.
Prosecutors allege that Sabosky sent Grau a text message warning him of the drug raid and tried to convince another officer not to detain the Torrance policeman.
Sabosky was fired Jan. 24, but he had been assigned to station duties for about a year while police investigated, the Breeze reported. The Torrance Police Department conducted an internal investigation on Grau's role in the incident, and he resigned from the police department last year, sources told Patch.
Sabosky, who pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy and revealing search warrant information, is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 14.
