Quick Hits: Arraignment Set for Man Charged in Double Homicide

Here are some things to look forward to today in Redondo Beach.

Happy Thursday! Here are five things Redondo Beach residents should know today: 

  1. Jonathan Chacon, the man accused of killing Vicki and Courtney Bergman in their North Redondo Beach apartment last year, will be arraigned at the Torrance courthouse today.
  2. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the city of Redondo Beach a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting—the GFOA's highest form of recognition—for the city's comprehensive annual financial report.
  3. In a blog post, Jackie Balestra of South Bay by Jackie is encouraging readers to support their local Patch sites. A reporter from a local paper has also launched a Save Redondo Beach Patch petition.
