Blog: Gallion Leads Way as RUHS Freshman Baseball Continues Torrid Pace
RUHS freshman baseball improves to 10-0 on the season.
Cooper Gallion powered the Redondo Union Sea Hawks at the plate and on the bump Tuesday, willing the Redondo Union Sea Hawks Freshman Baseball team to a 14-0 victory over the North Torrance Saxons. The win pushes the Freshman Sea Hawk record to 10-0 as they remain undefeated for the season.
Gallion racked up three RBIs total on the day, two when he homered in the first inning, his third home run of the season. The Sea Hawks got the win thanks in large part to Gallion's dominant, six-strikeout pitching performance. The freshman tossed three innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits and no earned runs.
Twelve runs were scored in the first three innings, helping the Sea Hawks blow out North Torrance. An RBI double by Marco Valenzuela, an RBI single by Jacob Ramos, a walk by Gallion with the bases loaded, a two-run double by Jacob Springman, a two-run single by Malik Spencer, and a two-run double by Jacob Ramos in the second inning fueled the Sea Hawks' offense early.
