Blog: Save SoCal ROC
AB 1214, which will save SoCal ROC, will heard in Appropriations Committee on May 15. I respectfully ask that you send your letter of support and help me save SoCal ROC!
The Southern California Regional Occupation Center (ROC) is at stake, and I respectfully ask for your help to save it.
Founded in 1967, SoCal ROC has served as a model for innovation and career technical education (CTE) for the state. Each year, SoCal ROC prepares over 10,000 people for careers in California's ever-changing economy. However, under Governor Brown's proposed budget, SoCal ROC is at risk of losing its direct funding. Unless the budget changes, this crown jewel of the South Bay will be eliminated.
Assembly Bill 1214, which protects and saves SoCal ROC by providing a dedicated funding stream to keep the program alive, will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on May 15. I respectfully ask that you send your letter of support for AB 1214 to my office and contact our Governor before the May revise (May 10) to let him know you want to save SoCal ROC.
