Jeff Ginsburg’s Redondo Beach City Council – District 1 Thank You Speech for May 14th, 2013

Thank you Redondo Beach District 1 voters for electing me to the City Council. I am honored and humbled to represent our great city. I am looking forward to the next 4 years and making decisions which will improve our city while focusing on maintaining our current lifestyle in our community. I want to thank Steve Aspel for his outstanding service and leadership as City Councilman for the last 8 years. Steve led our district 1 well and left some big shoes for me to fill. Next, I want to thank Chris Cagle for showing me how to run a campaign as none of this would have been possible without his mentoring along the way. The last several years have been economically challenging for us all and on top of that our city has been polarized over issues regarding zoning and of course the now famous power plant. I want to see us come together and find flexibility to get things done more efficiently. Our city is entering a period of unique and exciting times which we have not seen before. The waterfront project is an example of a significant change which will mark Redondo Beach as an icon on the coastline, make our pier once again attractive to our local community and pave the way towards a wonderful future. Our Riviera Village is currently under construction making the way for a hotel shuttle stop which, without adding traffic, will bring visitors in from around the world to shop, dine and experience the nicest beach in the south bay. The list goes on but I want you to all enjoy the party… In closing, I wish to thank again the citizens of Redondo Beach, District 1 for electing me today and my friends, family and of course my incredible wife Melissa for all the support during these last several months. There is no doubt in my mind that we live in the best city in America. I trust that each one of our Council members, the Mayor and city staff share my belief. Together with you, the citizens of Redondo Beach, we will continue to keep our city a beautiful, progressive and safe place to live. A place we can all call home and be proud of.
