REDONDO UNION VARSITY BASEBALL ADVANCES TO CIF QUARTER FINALS

Red hot batting Brady Dorn went three for three with three RBI's igniting the Sea Hawk offense while Sophomore relief pitcher Cooper Gallion (5-2, 4 saves) pitched three innings to another win, striking out two while allowing just one hit.  Senior ace Cassius Hamm (7-3, 1 save) came in to pitch the final 3 outs for his first save.Freshman pitcher Danny Zimmerman (2-4) gave up 2 runs and was chased in the 3rd inning after a lead off single and a stolen base lead to a walk and go ahead run. Pitcher Cooper Gallion has inherited situations with runners aboard and less than 2 outs throughout the season and again slammed the door shut and got out of the inning with the Sea Haws trailing by just one run. Dazzling defensive plays by shortstop Duncan McKinnon and second baseman Cole Henderson allowed Gallion to be aggressive and go after hitters throwing 11 first pitch strikes to 12 batters faced. Jason DiCochea came in to pitch 2 outs in the sixth after Gallion got into some trouble allowing two runners to score bringing Bonita within striking distance at the score of 6-4. Earlier in the 5th inning up by only a run the Varsity Sea Hawks gave Gallion some breathing room with 2 doubles and a triple by Dorn who had walked Redondo off with a game winning hit off the wall against LaSalle in the opening game of the CIF finals last Friday at Memorial Field.
