Saatchi & Saatchi LA Brings Back Nog Pong for the Holidays!

Saatchi & Saatchi LA is bringing Nog Pong back this holiday season. It promises some ‘dog’-gone, festive fun, laughs and surprises, brought to you by the Saatchi LA team!

Saatchi & Saatchi LA President Chuck Maguy challenged the agency to come up with an alternative to the traditional agency holiday card. The team responded with a dynamic social media campaign in partnership with Deeplocal that put a holiday twist on the time-honored tradition of beer pong.

During the game of Nog Pong, anyone online can compete with Saatchilians using a robot, also known as the Nog Bot at NogPong.com between 12 and 5 PM today. Deeplocal created the Nog Bot technology by reverse engineering a ping-pong practice machine and replacing its interior with their own wiring and microcontroller to control its movements. The Saatchi LA team then devised a web-based API to communicate with the robot, allowing users to aim and shoot balls at different speeds and directions from their computers, along with the website itself.

Nog Pong 2013 will benefit the Amanda Foundation, a Beverly Hills based nonprofit organization that rescues dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, are spending their last days at city and county shelters.  In addition to raising awareness through Nog Pong, Saatchi LA will donate $10,000 to the organization to help support their animals and related services.

The 2013 iteration of Nog Pong will serve as the beginning of Saatchi LA’s relationship with the Amanda Foundation. Throughout the coming year, the agency plans to support the organization’s marketing and identity branding goals as one of their nonprofit clients.
