3.1 Earthquake Shakes Santa Monica Bay

The quake struck at 11:48 a.m.

A small earthquake shook some buildings in West Los Angeles and along the coast Friday, but there were no reports of any damage or injuries.

The magnitude-3.0 quake struck at 11:48 a.m. just northwest of Marina del Rey and two miles southeast of Santa Monica, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Although the temblor shook some buildings, neither the Los Angeles city nor county fire departments received any reports of any damage.

More than 900 people reported feeling the damage on the USGS Community Internet Intensity Map. Only one person in Redondo Beach reported feeling it.

The earthquake's magnitude was originally reported at 3.1, but it was downgraded to a magnitude-3.0.
