City Celebrates Perry Park Re-Opening

Councilman Steve Diels and other city officials re-dedicate Perry Park.

Redondo Beach city officials hosted a grand re-opening ceremony for Perry Park and unveiled a bronze plaque dedicated to the many people and organizations who donated to the project.

Improvements to the park include new play equipment and surfacing, new fencing, new bleachers, new basketball hoop structures, new paint, and other sports field improvements.

The city spent $126,000 to renovate the park, not including $10,000 from AES to renovate the Little League fields, a $100,000 Proposition A grant from Los Angeles County Fourth District Supervisor Don Knabe, and cash donations from Athens Services and U.S. Bank.

According to a news release from the city, the park's batting cages were designed by M.E. Morales-Manning and constructed by Charlie D'Agostino/310 Development Company with materials provided by Dean Thomas. Sharefest Inc. repainted the Teen Center and other park amenities.
