Traffic delays and a shortage of parking spaces are expected Sunday morning in a portion of Redondo Beach because of the 36th annual Super Bowl Sunday 10K/5K Run/Walk.

Congestion and scarcity of parking spaces are expected between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. west of Pacific Coast Highway, south of Herondo Street and extending to the Rivera Village, the Redondo Beach Police Department announced today.

About 8,000 participants are expected for the race near the Redondo Beach Pier.

Interesting that the new editor of the Redondo Beach Patch lives in San Juan Capistrano.

It's temporary. Hang tight. :-)

I'm unsubscribing. Without a local presence, this is just another disconnected advertizing blog. Good By, maybe its time to set up our own site :-)

Hale Global--the new owner of Patch--laid off hundreds of Patch employees yesterday. Oh yeah: Hale Global "specializes" in "turning around" troubled companies. I'd recommend not "turning around" anywhere near "turnaround" companies.

they all are media libtards
Liz Champlain January 30, 2014 at 05:51 PM
Hey Penny/Patch, the "tard" suffix used by Wolfman is vile. How about deleting comments that use it?
Penny Arévalo (Editor) January 30, 2014 at 06:08 PM
Well, I don't offend that easily, and since I'm not liberal, I find it amusing, at least the lib- part of it. With so many sites to watch, I'm hoping the users can work out some of their differences without the strong delete-finger of the editor. Is it possible?
Liz Champlain January 30, 2014 at 06:18 PM
So, Penny, because you aren't "liberal", you are OK with words that carry the "tard" suffix and are offensive to those of us who have mentally-challenged people in our families? Surely you know that terminology's nasty history? Or, I guess you don't. "Amusing", huh?
Penny Arévalo (Editor) January 30, 2014 at 06:27 PM
"Iat least the lib- part of it." I do understand. I really do. I would never use that word myself. But what I prefer is for you all to have cordial discussions among yourselves, calling for my help as a last resort. Feel free to address Wolfman directly on the issues, (key phrase there) and you'll be fine. I'm a free speecher. Free speech is ugly at times.
Liz Champlain January 30, 2014 at 06:30 PM
I don't need lectures on "free speech". Thanks anyway.
Roger Hawkins January 30, 2014 at 06:42 PM
Liz, you are absolutely spot-on regarding the "-tard" suffix. As the brother of an autistic woman and an educator, I find its continued use appalling. The special Olympics and many other organizations do, too. That an editor finds this offensive term "amusing" is pathetic.
Penny Arévalo (Editor) January 30, 2014 at 06:47 PM
Guys, I didn't! I find the assumption that I'm some part of some grand liberal conspiracy amusing. But Roger, your first comments are exactly what I was hoping for. Rather than calling for an editor to clean things up, have a discussion. It's much better for everyone. Truce?
Wolfman January 30, 2014 at 08:34 PM
Penny, they get offended at anything they don't agree with because they know it is true and can't handle it kinda like pulling the race card. Penny you did the right thing as we still have free speech in America. Thank you,
Liz Champlain January 30, 2014 at 08:41 PM
Not a "free speech" issue, sport. Was the government trying to silence your ignorance? You don't even know what "free speech" is.
