King Harbor Holiday Boat Parade Makes a Splash in Redondo Beach

The theme of this year's event, "Dive into the Season," is a tribute to Body Glove co-founder Bob Meistrell, who died June 16.

It was smooth sailing for participants and spectators at the 22nd Annual King Harbor Boat Parade Saturday as dozens of decorated boats and stand-up paddleboarders glided through the marina from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate the holiday season.

The theme of this year's holiday parade, "Dive into the Season," was a tribute to Body Glove co-founder Bob Meistrell, who died June 16. Meistrell's wife, Patty, and sons, Randy, Robbie and Ronnie, served as grand marshals of the event.

Proceeds from the event benefitted the King Harbor Youth Foundation, Sea Scout Ship #618 and a charity chosen by the Meistrell family.
