Photos: SEA Lab Celebrates Earth Month

The celebration, hosted by Redondo Beach's Public Works Department and the SEA Lab, offers chalk art, reusable bags, performances and more.

Hundreds of people showed up to celebrate Earth Day at the on Saturday.

Attendees of the free event were treated to arts and crafts, dancers with costumes made of trash, hair cuts, composting lessons and yoga. People were also invited to trade in disposable plastic bags for reusable, recyclable bags.

Other activities included a chalk art challenge and a beach cleanup.

Multiple organizations around the South Bay--including the Surfrider Foundation, Girl Scout Cadet Troop No. 3735, South Bay Parkland Conservancy and STAR Eco Station--participated in the event.
