Angela Hoover Heads to Radio City Music Hall
Angela Hoover, who lives in Redondo Beach, is a comedienne competing on America's Got Talent on NBC.
Redondo Beach resident Angela Hoover is on her way to Radio City Music Hall.
Hoover, a contestant on America's Got Talent, made the cut on last Tuesday night's show in Las Vegas after auditioning in an earlier episode.
On that episode, Hoover told the judges that she started doing comedy about 10 years ago, but took five years off to stay home with her children. Her impressions of Penelope Cruz, Kristen Chenoweth and other celebrities were a hit with the judges.
"You were smooth as if you had ignored your children and stayed with comedy all those years," judge Howard Stern Joked.
Heidi Klum, too, had kind words about Hoover's impressions: "You all of a sudden looked like them, too—which was crazy!"
According to her Twitter account, Hoover will perform live at Radio City Music Hall on July 30.
"I am beyond thrilled and excited," Hoover said in an interview posted on YouTube. "I still haven't quite taken it in … It's a dream. It's an absolute dream, and I'm blessed beyond belief right now."
America's Got Talent airs on NBC at Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
