National Night Out safety fair

National Night Out is Aug. 3, and this year members of the  will be holding a safety event at the Redondo Beach Target Store, 1601 Kingsdale Ave., from 5 to 8 p.m.

Free food and beverages will be offered to those in attendance. The safety event will include a K9 demo at 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.; a fire department demo at 7:15 p.m.; and a kids bike safety challenge at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The kids bike safety challenge, presented by RBPD bike team officers, will discuss safe biking habits, on bike demonstrations and a challenging course for the kids to ride while practicing safe biking habits. The bike challenged is designed for 5- to 15-year-olds. Parents, please bring your child's bike and helmet to the event.
