'Reach Me' Movie Filming in Redondo

Crews have used multiple Redondo Beach landmarks as filming locations for the movie.

The indie movie Reach Me has been filming at multiple Redondo Beach landmarks over the past two weeks. On Monday, the production filmed scenes in Veterans Park in South Redondo Beach.

The film, directed by John Herzfeld, centers around a group of people who are all connected through an ex-football coach's self help book and features Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Elizabeth Henstridge, Kyra Sedgwick, Kelsey Grammer and Lauren Cohan, according to the Internet Movie Database.

On Monday evening, Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Tom Berenger shot scenes in Veterans Park alongside actor Kevin Connolly, best known for his role in HBO's Entourage.

According to Rebekah Chaney, one of the film's actresses and producers, Redondo Beach is the actual setting of the movie; the city will not be made to look like a fictional beach town. Chaney said that after looking at other beach cities, producers knew Redondo Beach was the perfect fit for the movie.

No specific release date has been announced, but IMDB indicates the movie will be released sometime in 2013.
