Video: Adler's Appetite Kicks Off Tour at Brixton

Steven Adler, the former star drummer for Guns N' Roses, fronts his own band these days, Adler’s Appetite, and the group kicked off a massive tour Thursday at in Redondo Beach, tearing through a meaty set of GNR classics that had fans of all shapes and size jumping up and down and screaming their heads off.

It wasn't 1988, but it sure felt like it.

Adler, that wild and crazy guy who grew up in the Los Angeles area and later co-founded American's answer to Led Zeppelin in Guns N' Roses, was in top form and clean and sober after his second stint on the VH1 show Celebrity Rehab.

Bassist Chip Z'Nuff of Enuff Z'Nuff (see the attached video interview with Chip) and guitarist Mickey Thomas are the top sidemen, and there are a couple of newbies in place in the form of co-guitarist Lonnie Paul and singer Patrick Stone.

It was Stone's first show in a slate that runs through the end of summer and goes coast-to-coast. He missed a word here and there and figures to gain self-confidence as the tour continues, but for starters, he was not bad at all. But don’t just take my word for it—check out the video above of Stone kicking some serious butt on "Rocket Queen."

All the early hits were in place, ending, of course, with "Welcome to the Jungle," and afterward Adler happily signed autographs for everyone who wanted one.
