Earthquake Shakes South Bay, Westside
The magnitude-2.8 earthquake struck about halfway between Marina del Rey and El Segundo.
A magnitude-2.8 earthquake shook the South Bay and the Westside at about 9:32 p.m. Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred about 2 miles southeast of Marina del Rey, two miles north-northwest of El Segundo and 4 miles south-southwest of Culver City.
Within an hour, more than 700 people in more than 60 Los Angeles-area ZIP codes—including Culver City, Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and El Segundo, among others—reported feeling the temblor on the USGS Community Internet Intensity Map.

It was felt as far north as Brentwood and as far south as Lomita.
This is the seventh earthquake in the same general area since March, according to the USGS.
