Over the last decade, the bench in front of the provided a place for shoppers to take a brief rest. Santa sat on the bench and spoke to children during the annual .
Now, the bench is missing.
"I walked in, and I'm like, 'What's wrong? What's wrong?'" said Monogram Shoppe owner Michelle VonKannon—and then it hit her. "The bench!"
The bench, which VonKannon described as a long, heavy bench adorned with a blue Naugahyde slipcover and the store's name, was stolen at some point Saturday night, she said.
"I think you would have had to have a truck to have driven off with it," VonKannon said, noting that it probably wouldn't fit in a car.
After she saw the bench was missing, VonKannon and friends checked alleys in Riviera Village to see if someone had dumped it. They have not yet filed a police report.
"We would love the bench back," she said, adding that she was offering a reward with no questions asked for its return.
