Dominique's Kitchen Opens on PCH

Dominique's Kitchen moves into the restaurant space vacated by Oh La La! Pasta earlier this year.

The French restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway between Ruby and Sapphire streets has changed hands once again.

Dominique's Kitchen—named for owner-chef Dominique Theval—opened last week in the space vacated by Oh La La! Pasta (formerly Bistro Oh La La!), according to an item on EaterLA. Oh La La! replaced Le Beaujolais in July 2011.

The latest restaurant bills itself as "a casual neighborhood hangout serving reasonably priced Euro-French cuisine" in a paragraph on its website.

"Our goal is to make good food an everyday occasion for the neighborhood," according to the website.

The menu offers items like baked snails in garlic butter, garlic fries with mayonnaise, spicy lamb sausage, slow braised beef short ribs, Boston sea scallops and more.

There are also two sizes of cheese fondue with a French baguette, priced at $19.99 for two to four people and $26.99 for four or more people.

Theval attended cooking school in France, and has worked as a chef in France, Bermuda, London and Cambodia, according to his biography on the Dominic's Kitchen website. He came to Los Angeles in August 2002 and was hired as the executive chef of Morels French Bistro and Steakhouse in 2002 before moving to Taix, Los Angeles' oldest French restaurant, in 2006.

Dominique's Kitchen is located at 522 S. Pacific Coast Hwy. in South Redondo Beach.
