Founder Spills Beans on Marsatta Chocolates

Marsatta Fancy Chocolates, a Redondo Beach-based chocolate factory, sells its tasty treats at farmers markets in the Los Angeles area.

The name of Redondo Beach's very own chocolate company—Marsatta Fancy Chocolates—was conceived during a long bus ride from Torrance to the Hollywood Bowl one year, owner Jeffray Gardner reveals in an interview posted on the Sunset Strip Market website.

The local chocolate maker is a bean-to-bar operation, meaning that Jeffray and Naomi Gardner import the cacao beans and turn them into chocolate before creating their truffles and bars.

The interview posted online covers the variety of truffle flavors, the health benefits of chocolate and more.

You can find the Marsatta Fancy Chocolates booth at the farmers market at Veterans Park in South Redondo Beach on Thursday mornings.
