It's the second annual National Frozen Yogurt Day, and to celebrate, Yogurtland is giving away free frozen yogurt and toppings, as well as collector-edition biodegradable spoons and cups, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday.
Redondo Beach's only Yogurtland, located at 271 Avenida del Norte in Riviera Village, will be participating in the promotion while supplies last, the company confirmed.
“National Frozen Yogurt Day allows us to thank our fans, and once again we look forward to serving them delicious yogurt with a wide range of toppings,” said Charlotte Lucich, director of marketing at Yogurtland. "This year we are proud to partner with Hershey’s to make National Frozen Yogurt Day a very sweet reward for our fans."
Last year, Yogurtland locations across the country served more than 1.2 million cups of free froyo.
If you can't make it to Yogurtland for the free soft-serve, there are other frozen-yogurt shops in Redondo Beach—though they won't be offering free servings.
In North Redondo Beach, froyo aficionados can check out Menchie's on Artesia Boulevard or Yogurberry in the South Bay Galleria. For South Redondo Beach residents, there are Penguin's at Pacific Coast Highway and Knob Hill Avenue and Handel's in the center at Pacific Coast Highway and Prospect Avenue.
