Panera Bread Aims to Raise Money for Breast Cancer Research

The Redondo Beach location will participate in a fundraiser on Friday.

Panera Bread wants to help raise money for breast cancer research during this Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating proceeds on Friday from sales of its pink ribbon bagel.

For one day only, 100 percent of the proceeds from Panera's Pink Ribbon Bagel, which is formed in the shape of a pink ribbon, will benefit the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.

That foundation works to educate women about breast cancer and also funds research.

For the rest of the month, ten cents from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold will go toward breast cancer research, according to spokeswoman Sara Nazarian.

The Redondo Beach Panera Bread is located at 1511 Hawthorne Blvd.
