Redondo Wine Bistro Offers Euro-California Fusion

Since its opening last February, Redondo Wine Bistro has been working to keep things fresh. The restaurant is kicking off the summer with a refined dinner and wine menu, as well as a wine lounge that's coming soon.

With more than 200 different wine selections from Australia to South America, the restaurant gives shoppers at Riviera Village a chance to try exclusive boutique wines that are hard to find.

“I’ve traveled the world and tried lots of different wines,” said general manager and co-owner Diego Leporini. “Since California has so many wineries, people tend to focus on just American wines. We have a passion for food and wine and we want to introduce that here.”

Wine may be in the name, but the eatery also offer a rotating selection of craft beers every week. You can choose to eat inside in the cozy dining room or the outdoor patio.

The variety doesn’t stop with the libations. The food menu has Spanish, Italian, French, Latin and Californian influences. The halibut ravioli, ricotta and spinach stuffed ravioli with Alaskan halibut in a bell pepper sauce is among their signature dishes.

Beginning June 26, the shortened summer lunch and dinner menu will feature lighter foods using seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The restaurant is now open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with specials that include a summer peach salad and a half-pound house ground Kobe burger with roasted tomato aioli, Nueske's bacon and grilled onions. Leporini called the restaurant's $12 bottomless mimosas and sangria during Sunday brunch the best deal in Riviera Village. Brunch is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the menu features omelets, crab cake Benedict and French toast.

Construction on a wine lounge upstairs is almost done, Leporini said. The lounge will have couches, a rotating wine selection and cold appetizers.
