Save on Back-to-School Supplies

It's not too late to save money on back-to-school supplies. Sometimes the best sales are after school starts.

I'm a bit of a last-minute Lucy, and if you are like me, then you are probably running a little late with back-to-school supplies shopping. Don't worry—sometimes the best sales are saved for first few weeks of school.

The price of school supplies adds up quickly, so here are a few places that are still offering great back-to-school savings on the supplies your kids need most.

Staples offers both instant and easy rebate savings. Here are just a few of the school supplies on sale this week. Seventy-page, one-subject poly-covered notebooks are 10 cents each and an eight-pack of No. 2 yellow pencils are one cent. A 12-pack of pink arrowhead cap erasers costs one cent and a six-pack of Staples brand yellow highlighters is $1. All backpacks are 50 percent off, including brands Hurley, Reebok, Jansport and more.

has one-size-fits-all stretchable book covers for 99 cents and a buy-one-get-one-half-off sale on Mead Five Star three-subject notebooks. All book totes, backpacks and messenger bags are 50 percent off.

Aaron Brothers is having a 50 percent off sale on the entire stock of Crayola supplies. All Prismacolor art supplies, the entire stock of paper pads and paintbrushes are also on sale for 40 percent off.

Office Depot is having a sale on wire-bound memo books at five cents for a three-pack. Office Depot-brand three-subject marble composition books are 25 cents each. A six-pack of mechanical pencils costs $1.
