Select Beer, Gasser Lounge Among 'Best of' L.A.

Two Redondo Beach businesses earned accolades from L.A. Weekly this week during its annual "Best of Los Angeles" survey.

Select Beer Store in Riviera Village and Gasser Lounge in North Redondo Beach won "Best store for beer lovers" and "Best South Bay bar," respectively, according to the magazine. 

Select Beer is the "ultimate shopping destination" for beer lovers, writes reporter Erika Bolden.

"More than 500 of the finest domestic and imported bottles of beer suggest your paycheck is burning a hole in your wallet, while 12 draft beer handles insist you grab a stool and ruminate over your purchases," according to the magazine. "(Owner Wes) Jacobs and his knowledgeable staff accommodate all levels of craft beer lover, from the newly converted to the pilgrimaging geek seeking L.A.'s finest wares."

Gasser Lounge, on the other hand, offers "the perfect 'rock & roll-meets biker dude-meets Jack Kerouac wannabe' experience," says reporter Juan Gutierrez.

"Gasser Lounge has a laid-back environment, classic vinyl records on the walls and a fully stocked bar," according to the magazine. Oh, and it's "heaven" for Los Angeles Kings fans.

Select Beer is located at 1613 S. Pacific Coast Hwy., while Gasser Lounge is at 1500 Aviation Blvd.
