Sprouts & Shutters: Skin Savve to Open; Harmony Works to Close

This week's openings include Lightopia, Nektar Juice Bar and P.S. From Aeropostale; Redondo Hair & Beauty and Harmony Works look for new homes.

Wondering what new businesses are moving into your neighborhood, and which are saying farewell? Our Sprouts & Shutters column highlights the latest restaurant, retail and other business news in South Bay's neighborhoods.

Sprouts

In Hermosa Beach, look for Skin Savve Medical Spa to open soon on Hermosa Avenue. The salon will replace Molly's Skin Care Boutique at 1503 Hermosa Ave., which closed recently after owner Molly Walsh retired. Skin Savve owner Jennifer Salerno has said she will honor all previously purchased Molly's Skin Care gift certificates and packages.

Lightopia, a designer lighting store, will open its doors in Manhattan Beach at 2001 N. Sepulveda Blvd.

Nektar Juice Bar in Manhattan Beach celebrated its grand opening Tuesday by handing out 16-ounce smoothies. The juice bar specializes in natural, raw and vegan products. It replaces the Cold Stone Creamery at 451 Manhattan Beach Blvd.

The first P.S. From Aeropostale store in Los Angeles County—as well as a regular Aeropostale store—opened Saturday at the South Bay Galleria in North Redondo Beach. The shop is located on the second floor in the Kohls wing of the mall.

As mentioned last week, Neighborhood Grinds has opened a second location on the Redondo Beach Pier. Owner Fred Lie told Patch that he expects to hold a grand opening party once a fire pit is installed at the location, which should happen "in the next couple of weeks."

Shutters

Patch has received more information about the fate of Redondo Hair & Beauty Supply and Harmony Works. The two stores occupy the building at 1705 S. Catalina Ave. in Riviera Village. The building was purchased at the end of 2012, and both tenants were given until June 1 to vacate the premises. It's not yet known what will go into the building; however, both businesses are searching for new locations.
