Taking Pizza to the Extreme

Lately, there's been a lot of talk about taking things to the extreme. Now, pizza can be included to the mix. , one of the newest restaurants in Redondo Beach, has a large and eclectic menu with 21 signature extreme pizzas plus an immense handful of ingredients to customize your own pie.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of healthier options available on the menu. They also serve the now-commonplace features like gluten-free and wheat crusts.

They also have a moderate selection of calzones, salads, and subs. Limited selections of wings and dessert can also be found on the exhaustive menu.

Four convenient order methods are available: pick-up, delivery, dine-in and order online.

My delivery came in roughly 30 minutes, and I'm pleased to report that it was still warm. Subtle, savory and sweet, were the mix of flavors present on the medium ($18) Ragin Rooster pizza that was composed of chicken in sweet bbq sauce, onions, mozzarella, and cilantro on a chewy wheat crust that thankfully did not taste like the box that came in.

Continuing the subtle theme were the Pow Pow ($4) twists decorated with hazelnut, sugar and cinnamon. They pair well with a coffee but work well on their own, too.

If uncommon ingredients and large varieties of pizza are your thing, then Extreme Pizza is for you.
