The beach-inspired Tower 27 frozen yogurt shop, which offers a variety of options for the health-conscious yogurt-lover, is now open for business.
The shop, located between and at the South Bay Marketplace, is the first stand-alone yogurt shop of parent company Straw Hat, a Northern California-based restaurant chain. Tower 27 owner Elizabeth Adams said she chose Redondo Beach because it complements the eatery's seaside theme.
Tower 27 is a reference to both a Southern California lifeguard tower and the number of flavors the shop offers—at least 27, although the store currently stocks more than 40 flavors. Flavors like piña colada and Hawaiian pineapple stay true to the shop's beachy interior decor, while traditonal flavors are given beach-related names like "big wave chocolate."
"Also, I don't know anyone who doesn't like yogurt," Adams added, laughing.
For the health conscious, the shop also offers dairy-free sorbets, sugar-free and gluten-free yogurt and protein-packed, nonfat Greek yogurt.
Tower 27 Frozen Yogurt is located in the South Bay Marketplace at 1509 Hawthorne Blvd. in North Redondo Beach.
