Variety at Malibu Fish Grill

Since opening its doors three years ago, Malibu Fish Grill has become a local favorite. The menu offers a healthy selection of appetizers, salads and sandwiches. One of the hallmarks of this restaurant is the ability to customize one of many grilled fish meals.

offers a good variety of fish, including Mahi Mahi, Basa, Ono, and Ahi Tuna. Each of these dishes comes with a choice of seasoning, such as garlic butter, Cajun, lemon oregano and miso glaze. The dish is served with pita bread and two sides. The possibilities are endless, and each combination is worth a try.

Chicken and steak sandwiches, tacos, and wraps are also available for those guests who aren't too fond of fish. Malibu Fish Grill also hosts $2 Tuesday where all tacos are only $2 each so customers are free to try as many tacos as they would like without hurting their wallet. No matter what a customer ends up ordering, they can rest assured their meal will be fresh and healthy.

Although Malibu is known for fresh fare, the staff seemed far from it. They appeared to go through the motions, even proceed with side work as customers looked over their menu. The only time they smiled at the customer was when they handed them the receipt.

Thankfully, the presentation of the Wahoo with the fruit salad and hummus was the polar opposite of the servers' attitudes. Everything appeared to be colorful. The fish flaked easily. However, the lemon oregano flavor could hardly be detected. If anything, the seasoning was very uneven. The fruit was fresh and a good portion. Equally as fresh was the chewy pita bread that paired very well with a generous serving of hummus.

Despite the apathy of the staff, a return visit will happen in the next few months. Perhaps a different combination would fare better in the future.
