Waterfront Workshop Set for Thursday

CenterCal Properties is looking for the public's input on the future of the Redondo Beach Pier.

CenterCal Properties and the city of Redondo Beach will host another waterfront visioning workshop at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center on Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will last approximately two hours.

"Design of our waterfront is at a critical stage," Councilman Bill Brand, who represents King Harbor and the Redondo Beach Pier as part of his District 2, wrote in an email to supporters. "Final design is in the works and there are only three more public meetings before it goes for environmental review. Big changes will be very difficult after June."

Input given at the workshop will help CenterCal finalize its vision for the future of the waterfront property, which includes the Redondo Beach Pier and Pier Plaza, International Boardwalk, Redondo Beach Marina and Seaside Lagoon.

In addition to Thursday's meeting, two more workshops are scheduled for May 11 from 10 a.m. to noon and June 13 from 6-8 p.m.
