Yellow Vase Cafe Is Cozy, Charming

The Yellow Vase is a quaint cafe with a European feel right in the heart of Redondo's Riviera Village.

The is a small café, doubling as a flower shop, with a cozy cottage feel. The bright yellow motif present on the furniture and walls is cheerful and welcoming. An abundance of fresh flowers for sale were displayed in the front of the store. It added to the warm feeling that was present -- and that was just the entrance to the restaurant.

The counter case displays edible goodness in the form of cupcakes and other baked goods that are worth a try. The menu offers traditional breakfast fare, sandwiches, and salads.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful to take the order, which did not take too long to prepare.

First up was the Spanish latte ($3.50), which was a mixture of condensed and whole milk, which gave it a slightly sweet taste that was a nice change from the usual. A floral design was made from the foam. It was a unique touch.

Next was a good size portion of The Scrambled ($7) with three scrambled eggs, medium salsa, a mixed green salad with vinaigrette and three pieces of bread and butter.

Salad is not very common for breakfast but it paired surprisingly well with the eggs and bread. The portion was just enough and was not greasy. It felt like a good choice to start the day. The meal was very satisfying and hit the spot instantly.

Enjoy the cozy European feel right here in Redondo whether it be for breakfast, a light lunch or dinner.

The Yellow Vase is located at 1805 S. Catalina Ave. and open daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
