Zagat Recognizes 2 Local Eateries

Zagat, the restaurant guide, releases a list of its top restaurants in Los Angeles County and beyond. Two Redondo Beach eateries are No. 1 in their respective categories.

Two South Redondo Beach restaurants are on Zagat's 2013 list of the top restaurants in Los Angeles County, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and Orange County, according to a statement from Zagat released Monday.

Based on the ratings of 18,450 people for more than 2,000 eateries, the dining guide picked the best restaurants for dozens of cuisines.

The Original Pancake House on Pacific Coast Highway in Riviera Village was named the best diner. Though it's a chain restaurant with more than 100 franchises throughout the U.S., the Redondo Beach restaurant is the only one in the Los Angeles area.
