Local Activities for Widowed Men and Women in the South Bay

Widowed men and women face daunting challenges as they rebuild their lives after the loss of their spouse. Widowed Persons Association of South Bay is a new volunteer group started in the South Bay to help widows and widowers meet new friends for mutual support. WPAC-South Bay is an all-volunteer group that focuses on social activities to help rebuild community and fill empty hours with productive and fun activities that can develop new skills and hobbies, as well as supportive conversation. Our next meeting is open to all widows and widowers and will focus on learning about upcoming activities and forming small groups for participation. Activities are far ranging from walks at the beach, to card games, to attending movies, lunches and and local museums -- as well as recommendations from the floor. The meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, 21333 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503. The date is Saturday, June 8, 11:30 - 2 pm. The cost is the price of your meal, approximately $18-20. Please reserve your place for this fun-filled luncheon. Call to reserve your space and for more information: Carolyn Allen, president 310-400-4146; or Genny Burchfield, membership, 310-373-4228.
