Veterans' Benefits and Home Care

The struggles that Veteran families go through is a lifetime experience that not many other families can relate to - especially during times of war.

For Elderly U.S. Veterans or their surviving spouses, the Veteran Administration provides Veterans' Pension and Aid & Attendance as monetary benefits to help veterans or their spouses cope better with any financial struggles they may be having.

In order to qualify for Pension or Aid & Attendance, applicants must be low-income, at least 65 years old, and provided active duty service for at least 90 days with one day during a wartime period.

The income requirement for pension is more strict, with household income not allowed to exceed the Maximum Annual Pension Rate set by Congress.

Aid & Attendance applicants must require the in-home care assistance of another individual for
personal care and essential activities of daily living to remain independent at home.

If you're a U.S. Veteran or suvivor of a Veteran and need in-home care assistance, the case managers at A-1 Home Care can help you.

Our case managers can help you determine income eligibility, submit an online application, or determine what information to submit as evidence of the need for in-home care for the Aid & Attendance Benefit.

A-1 Home Care is a Licensed Bonded and Insured non-medical homecare agency that has been a care provider in Redondo Beach, CA and others in the Greater Los Angeles Area and Orange County since 1991.  We specialize in a variety of in-home care services for Elderly, Senior, and Terminally Ill individuals on a Round the Clock Care or Hourly Care basis.
