The following was written by Mary Lou French, a group participant at Cancer Support Community-Redondo Beach (CSC-RB). Mary Lou attended the Yoga on the Pier series that benefitted CSC-RB in partnership with Blue Zones Project, Redondo Beach Pier Association, and the City of Redondo Beach. The six-week series took place from July 22-August 26th.

Yoga on the Pier

If you were on the pier last night for the final session of "Yoga on the Pier" I don't need to say that it was the best one yet!!!  The weather was perfect....cool breezes but warm sunshine.....just right for doing our yoga poses.

We had a magnificent sunset as we finished our last yoga on the pier....lovely and tranquil to watch as we enjoyed the healthy movement of our bodies.

There were lots of raffle prizes given out and many smiling faces as we did a sing -a- long type ending with Valinda and her sweet young daughter.

As always, we need to thank the Blue Zones Project, City of Redondo Beach, Redondo Beach Pier Association and the Spectrum people for all of their help. The donations for the raffle drawings were gratefully accepted from: Kincaid's Restaurant, Manduka Yoga Equipment as well as our Blue Zone and Spectrum friends.

Let everybody know about the great time we had doing Yoga on the Pier....we are sorry to see this wonderful series end, but maybe we can get them to do it again!
