The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County today decreased for the 25 consecutive day, dropping 1.4 cents to $4.128, one day after falling 2.2 cents.
The average price has dropped 28.3 cents over the past 25 days, and is 11.2 cents less than one week ago and 10.5 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Nevertheless, the average price is 15.3 cents higher than it was at this time last year.
The decreasing pump prices are the result of a "substantial drop" in wholesale gasoline prices, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
