Gas prices have fallen for the 10th day in a row, City News Service reported Monday. The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased seven-tenths of a cent to $4.23.
The figure is 5.2 cents less than it was last week, but still 2.1 cents higher than it was last month and $1.109 higher than it was last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
Previously, the average price rose 43 times in 45 days.
There are several stations in the Redondo Beach area that sell gas for prices below the county average, according to user-submitted prices from GasBuddy.com.

The decrease in gas prices correlates with the decline in the cost of crude oil, analysts said. The price of a barrel of oil dropped 19 cents to $99.46 in late-morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange—a sharp decrease from the 30-month high of almost $115 earlier in May.
Crude oil costs can account for up to three-quarters of the price of a gallon of gas, said Western States Petroleum Association spokesman Tupper Hull.
