Denise Mina Signs in Redondo Beach

Award-winning Glasglow crime author Denise Mina visits MG for the first time to discuss crime and redemption in The Red Road, the latest in her DI Alex Morrow series. The Scotsman hailed The Red Road, in which Morrow has a decisive showdown with her gangster brother Danny, as “an enjoyable book, but also a disturbing one, for underlying the conventional elements of the crime novel/police procedural, is the assumption that criminality permeates our society.” The reviewer also notes, “Remarkably, in the dark world Mina portrays with bitter relish, there is a place for love. Indeed love and the possibility of its redeeming power is one of the themes of the novel.”
