RB COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING (CERT) - FALL CLASS BEGINS
RB FIREFIGHTERS TO TEACH FALL CERT CLASS TO RESIDENTS- SIGN UP TODAY!
In an emergency, response resources will be stretched thin. The Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) is a nationally-recognized, positive, and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may initially be on their own and their actions could make a difference. While people will respond to others in need without this training, one goal of the CERT program is to help them do so effectively and efficiently without placing themselves in unnecessary danger. In the CERT training, citizens learn to:
- Manage utilities and extinguish small fires
- Treat 3 medical killers by opening airways, control bleeding, and treat for shock
- Understand disaster psychology
- Provide basic medical aid (and gain a 2 year CPR, First Aid card)
- Search for and rescue victims safely
Please see the link below for schedule, class times and photos of previous classes. Please note you must be 18 or older, attend all classes to become CERT, CPR and first aid certified. Classes are limited in size and are $40 for RB residents.
