Rock & Brews to Host Elvis Presley Impersonator Contest November 10 Kicking Off A Series of Elvis-Themed Events in El Segundo, Calif.

 Rock &
Brews
, the popular rock-themed restaurant founded by Gene Simmons and
Paul Stanley of KISS, will host an “Is
Elvis in El Segundo”
Elvis Presley impersonator contest on Sunday, November
10 at 6 p.m. at its flagship
location at 143 Main Street in El Segundo, Calif.  The lighthearted event, sponsored by the El
Segundo Museum of Art (ESMoA), will welcome amateur Elvis impersonators to take
the stage for a five minute performance each. The audience will select the
winner, as they dine on Rock & Brews casual American cuisine and vast
selection of craft beers.  The winner of
the contest will receive $500. Admission is free.

The event kicks off a series of Elvis-themed events in El Segundo,
celebrating the enduring flame –
and fame – of The King of Rock ’n’ Roll in conjunction with the ongoing “FAME” art experience at the ESMoA, which explores
the multifarious foundations of what might make things famous and the possible
connections between them.

In addition to the amateur
impersonator contest at Rock & Brews, there will be an “Elvis Who?” contest for professional impersonators in an open
concert on Thursday, November 14 at 7 p.m. at the Old Town Music Hall at 140
Richmond Street in El Segundo. The focus will be on the Elvis of the 1950s.
Admission is free and the winner will earn a contract for the International
Impersonator Show “Stars in
Concert”
 to be held in Berlin,
Germany, in 2014.  “Elvis Who?” is being co-produced
by Bernhard Kurz and Ed Bonja.  Kurtz is one of the best-known and most
talented tribute-show-producers in the world, with lookalike-shows that span
the globe; he is currently the European President of the Las Vegas-based
International Association of Talent Agents and Producers. Bonja was Elvis
Presley's official photographer and tour manager from 1970-1977.
