"The Shelter Dog Series" paintings by Holly Medbery

Holly Medbery
presents her series of portraits of "Shelter Dogs" at Harmony Works

Manhattan Beach artist Holly Medbery loves dogs.  A lot.  So
much so that she not only owns them, she volunteers at animal shelters whenever
she can.

"As an artist, I've always been inspired by
anything beautiful.  Painting dogs is my passion, but witnessing the forlorn
sadness in the eyes of these shelter dogs moved me to want to help in some way.
The look on their faces makes more of a statement than anything else could,"
explains Medbery.

Harmony Works in the Riviera Village of Redondo
Beach will be showcasing her series from February 1st through the end of the
month.

"When I first saw the shelter dog paintings I
literally cried," says Royce Morales, owner of Harmony Works.  "I couldn't
believe the emotion Holly was able to capture," she continues, "as well as the
sweet loving nature you can see in each dog.  Like going into a shelter, I
wanted to take them all home!"

The artist also paints dogs that
have homes.  "I love doing custom portraits of family pets," she explains.  Each
dog means so much to a family, and if I can memorialize them I have accomplished
something special."

And, for cat lovers, she will paint those felines
as well.

Rover Rescue (www.roverrescue.com), a non-profit dog
rescue organization in Redondo Beach, will be the beneficiary of a percentage of
all painting sales.  They will have dogs available at Harmony Works to adopt on
Sunday February 9th all day.

Harmony Works is located at 1911 S. Catalina Avenue
in the Riviera Village of Redondo Beach.  The Shelter Dog showing will open on
February 1st and will be up daily throughout the month of February.
