Forget Pin-Up Girls: Check Out These Pin-Up Cats

A Redondo Beach resident creates the "purr-fect" calendar for cat lovers.

A Redondo Beach woman's latest project is causing a stir among feline aficionados: a 2014 wall calendar depicting her cats in various costumes and poses.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous due to catnapping fears, originally created the calendar as a Christmas gift for family; however, after receiving multiple requests from friends, she made it available for purchase on Lulu.com for $18.99.

"We usually dress (the cats) up for Christmas pictures, so they're used to costumes," she told Patch. "My family doesn't send me presents—they send me costumes."

In the calendar, the cats hop aboard a motorcycle, build a snowman, compete in the 2014 Kitty Olympic Games and disguise themselves as rabbits.

Proceeds from the calendars will pay for veterinary bills for one of the cat's irritable feline bowel syndrome as well as for costumes for future calendars.
