Prom Photos Punk Papers, Patches

Prom photos of 2011 Redondo Union High School graduates Albert Morales and Gabriela Peraza have shown up in online photo galleries across the country.

Two recent graduates have made a name for themselves in an unusual way: their images are showing up in prom photo galleries across the country.

"We don't think Waldo has gotten around as much as these two," writes the Jersey Journal on NJ.com. "Either they traipsed the country attending random proms, or they thought it would be fun (to) post their 2011 prom photos on Web sites across the nation."

A caption on the TropicalGazette.com's "Then & Now" gallery claims the photo of and Gabriela Peraza is from a 1982 prom at Redondo Union. The photos also appear on Cleveland.com, the Osakis Review website in Minnesota, and in multiple prom photo contests on Patch sites.

Morales apparently posted the photos without Peraza's knowledge.

"It was supposed to be something small, goofy and innocent," Morales told Patch in an email Friday night. "I couldn't have even predicted this."

The pics are also on Redondo Beach Patch, though not as part of any contest or official gallery of readers' prom photos. When Morales contacted Patch last year about showing off his prom photos and proposal video, we suggested he post an announcement on the site.

He did, , several of which have appeared on other websites. He also added his prom proposal video to another story; we've included it in our gallery in the upper-right corner of the article.

So why post his photos all over the country? "(I) just wanted to have the prom pictures to be published and as seen by many people as possible," he told the Jersey Journal. "Just trying to have fun by remembering good prom memories."
