Caring Is Sexy at Redondo Beach Salon

Salon Lucid in Redondo Beach raises money for Look Good Feel Better.

One South Bay hair salon did its part to raise money for Look Good Feel Better, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer patients, as part of beauty company Sexy Hair's second annual Caring is Sexy Cut-A-Thon on Tuesday.

Tammy Izbicki, the owner of Salon Lucid in Redondo Beach's Riviera Village, expected to raise more than $1,000 with $50 haircuts, $1 ribbons and raffle tickets for ovarian cancer research. All proceeds from those items will be donated to LGFB.

"We at Salon Lucid feel privileged to be able to help such a wonderful foundation," Izbicki told Patch. "All of us have had our lives affected in one way or the other by cancer, and if we can help in this small way to help bring comfort to people who are locked in the battle, we're happy that we can help."

So far, Sexy Hair has raised more than $40,800 for LGFB through the participation of hundreds of salons.
