Time is running out for Redondo Beach residents to recycle their Christmas trees.

According to a flier on the Redondo Beach city website, Athens Services will continue to pick up Christmas trees left out on normal trash collection days through Jan. 17. Residents of single-family homes should leave the tree by the trash carts.

Apartment dwellers and businesses with centralized trash service should leave trees at the curb in front of the property. People can look up their trash collection day on this map

Trees should have all ornaments, tinsel, strands, lights, and metal and plastic containers removed. Athens Services will accept flocked trees and ones coated with fire retardant.

All trees will be mulched once they're collected.
